On November 25, 2025, the delivery of lab results from Connect Care will be improved so that lab routing will:
- respect the preferred address for providers who work at multiple locations; and
- consider who (provider), where (location/address for each provider), and how (delivery method for each location/address) a lab result should be delivered to providers.
Note that distribution of lab results from Connect Care to other systems (including Netcare and eDelivery) will be temporarily interrupted during implementation of this change on November 25, from approximately 05:00 to 07:00.
Key things to note about this change:
- Results will always be available in Connect Care on the patient’s chart, and results also remain accessible in Alberta Netcare.
- Mixed-context providers can request either their Connect Care location or their community location as their primary address. Providers should consult the FAQ for guidance on selecting their preferred delivery location.
- Note: All providers who use Connect Care must have a Connect Care In Basket. If your primary address is your community location, you will continue to receive information that can only be sent to your Connect Care In Basket, including tasks that may require urgent attention.
- To update your provider or clinic information and delivery preferences, please complete the Request for Provider/Prescriber Set-Up in Health Information Systems Form.
