All User Bulletin - Daylight Savings Time and Connect Care Scheduled Downtime (Sunday, November 7, 2021)

All-user-bulletins highlight stumbling blocks that all prescribers need to be aware of when using the Connect Care clinical information system.

Daylight Savings Time - Fall Back

On Sunday morning, November 7, 2021, clocks turn back one hour at 02:00 to become 01:00, when Daylight Savings Time (DST) ends.

Due to the unique challenges falling back poses with repeated time intervals, a safe approach to the end of DST is to schedule a downtime. This downtime will start in the early morning of Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 01:50 MDT, and will end at approximately 03:30 MST (a total of 2 hours and 10 minutes). Be sure to sign off all Hyperspace and Mobility sessions prior to 01:50 MDT on November 7 (01:40 MDT in the North Zone).

  • Hyperspace, Transfusion (WellSky), Content (Quanum), MyAHS Connect and the Link Provider Portal systems are all affected by this downtime.
  • PRD SRO is expected to be available during the outage.
  • Dragon Medical One will remain available, but will not be accessible through Epic.
  • Document scanning or viewing will not be available in Quanum.
  • North Zone Network Services will also be taking a WiFi outage during the Connect Care downtime, from 01:50 MDT to 03:00 MST. This outage will affect any Connect Care device which requires WiFi in a North Zone site, including WOWs (wireless) and Rover devices.
Any paper ordering or charting will be uploaded by support staff once the downtime finishes. Physicians will want to validate this work. Charting deficiency notifications may appear later in In Basket but can be addressed with the SmartPhrase ".DOWNTIME".

Instruction on downtime procedures is available in the Connect Care Manual and additional linked resources:
